WARREN COLE
BIO
There's a lot to tell, but for now, I'll keep it short and sweet.
I draw and paint and like to make things, but music is how I choose to express myself. My choice of instrument is usually the guitar, but I will have a crack at playing anything.
At a time when my freinds were sporting mohicans and bondage trousers, I started learning the tenor saxophone (it was bigger than me) and I thought I would be the next Coltrane. However, that all changed when I discovered a copy of Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage in our local independent record shop (I yearn for Cruisin Records). I had to get myself a guitar, and six months later with a knackered old strat I joined my first band. There starts my journey. I have written recorded and played everyday since. My taste is very eclectic and there is pretty much nothing that I wont listen to.
Find the right combination of melody, words, harmony and rhythm and you can create magic, that can genuinely touch people. Although he never played a musical instrument, Nikolai Tesla was on the button when he said
“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
Some tunes and stories give you goosebumps and some music fills you with rage. It's all down to what you do with those twelve notes in the chromatic scale.
I hope that you enjoy my music - if you like it please pass it on. Feel free to drop me a line, I'm always up for a chat. I had better sign off before this biog becomes a blog.
